We have just started a drinking games wiki called Drinki-Wiki.

The wiki will will not be based on the popular Media Wiki format which is used in Wikipedia. There will be a few differences however it will mostly function the same way. I didn't want to go for a full on Media Wiki implementation since that would be overkill for something that deals with drinking.

All the functionality is not yet setup. Mainly the ability to link to other content and to add images is not yet setup. It's ready to go now. I'm pretty excited about the potential of this. I think it will be a fun experience even starting it. It will definitely serve as a gentle introduction to wikis for anyone who is nervous about posting to Wikipedia. As of right now no one but a select few can post there, this will change once we get all the bugs out.

One of the main reasons I chose to use a wiki-format instead of simply using a WSYWIG editor is that a wiki is very simple. Web-based WSYWIG editors tend to be a little temperamental when it comes to cutting and pasting and the like. This way if something goes completely haywire, the user will be able to figure out the error in their wiki formatting.

It's based on a WSYWIG style wiki now. This has proven to be far superior.
